INTRODUCTION

With so much uncertainty in our world, do we truly believe that we are held secure in God’s hands?

That’s a question to ponder isn’t it?

Let’s take a look at what Psalm 95 has to say:

Psalm 95 1-6

1 Come, let us sing for joy to the Lord;

               let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation.

2 Let us come before him with thanksgiving

                and extol him with music and song.

3 For the Lord is the great God,

                 the great King above all gods.

4 In his hand are the depths of the earth,

                 and the mountain peaks belong to him.

5 The sea is his, for he made it,

                 and his hands formed the dry land.

6 Come, let us bow down in worship,

                 let us kneel before the Lord our Maker;

SOME THINGS TO CONSIDER:

The Psalmist declares that in God’s hands are the very depths of the earth and the highest mountain peaks. From the tip of Mount Everest to the deepest part of the Pacific Ocean, every part of our beautiful planet is held in God's hands.

And we too are part of this creation that is held in God's hands, for he made us.

How amazing is this, that God holds us in the very palm of his hand.

We are loved by God so much.

The Psalmist is full of wonder and praise, as he declares not only that God is our creator but that his is fully present within that creation.

We live in a noisy, busy world don't we? But how important that in the midst of all this craziness, we, like the psalmist, come before ‘the Lord our maker’, and ‘bow down in worship’.

Let us acknowledge this today, let us ‘shout aloud to the rock of our salvation’.

FINAL THOUGHT

We live in an uncertain world that is desperate for meaning. We can see this all around us, with people trying to find ways to make sense of it all.

But as followers of Jesus, we can be sure that all is in the hands of the Lord Almighty, the one who created us, and who loves us beyond measure.
