Short Bible Reflections for Teens
Praying isn’t alway easy is it? I wonder why this is?
Maybe because it can feel so strange, maybe because it takes discipline and also because it’s so hard to pay attention isn't it? We are so easily distracted by everything in our lives that it can be so hard to focus.
But as as followers of Jesus, prayer shouldn’t be our last resort. It’s not what we should do after we have explored all other solutions, after we have tried to figure it out for ourselves, or after we have surfed the internet for answers. No, prayer is our lifeline to God. It is of infinite importance. This is why Jesus said, “Seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be given you”. (Matthew 6:33). It’s why he said, “Come to me, all you who labour and are burdened, and I will give you rest”. (Matthew 11:28).
It should be the first thing we do. Always.
It’s a lifeline - from us as humans - to our loving heavenly father.
How amazing is that!
This week, let’s take a look at this great Alpha Youth video and learn a little more about the importance of prayer.
Here is Lou Fellingham with the lovely song - 'Lord I need you'.
It's only in bowing before our Father in heaven that we find true rest.
